Students from Qatar University College of Engineering (QU-CENG) will participate in the upcoming AINnovation Student Competition in Jordan.
The competition, an initiative by the Arab Innovation Network (AIN), will be held on December 11 and 12 under the patronage of Queen Rania of Jordan.
Four teams from CENG were selected among 16 applications submitted by QU. Their projects – Passive House in Hot Climate, Sustainable Greenhouses to Enhance Protected Agriculture Productivity, Flying Aid Drone and Smiley - will compete in the finals against 11 teams from universities in Lebanon, Egypt, Palestine, Tunisia and Jordan.
The College of Engineering team will also participate in the two-day AINAC 2015, a conference that brings together students, entrepreneurs, academics and industrialists from the life sciences, health, engineering and environment sectors.
They will have the opportunity to attend inspirational talks by experts and leaders in various fields, as well as interact with students from around the world in debates and workshops.
College of Engineering dean Dr Rashid al-Ammari said, “Our students are up to the challenge after months of preparation and will present their innovative projects that are of international standard”.
