Some 100 major Chinese companies will participate in the Made in China exhibition, hosted by Qatar Chamber (QC), from December 14 to 16 at Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre.

QC acting general manager Saleh Hamad al-Sharqi said preparations for the expo were on in full swing. Over 100 reputable Chinese companies representing varied sectors such as infrastructure, technology and construction have confirmed their participation in the three-day event to introduce their products to the Qatari market.

He said the Made in China exhibition, to be held over a 15,000sqm area, demonstrates China's interest in Qatar as well as the need to promote Chinese products as it is a leading commercial and investment hub.

"Qatar has become the focus of attention of many investors and there is a growing interest in organising various exhibitions across all sectors in Qatar," al-Sharqi stressed, expressing his appreciation for the organising company, the Chinese embassy in Qatar and Sany Heavy Machineries Co for their support.

He affirmed QC’s keenness to organise the exhibition, hoping it would make a significant contribution to achieving further economic development and progress.

“China is a vital global economic power. Its economy is a major hub in the world economies and the exhibition constitutes a good opportunity for establishing transactions and partnerships between Qatari and Chinese sides,” al-Sharqi added.

The aim of the exhibition is not to sell Chinese products but to facilitate trade between Qatari and Chinese companies and exhibitors, he explained.
