Qatar Chamber (QC) will organise a forum for the business community in Qatar to introduce them to the rights and potential of people with disability.
The voluntary committee for employing the disabled, headed by Khalid al-Shoaibi, met yesterday with QC acting general manager Saleh al-Sharqi, who stressed QC’s support for such people.
“The upcoming forum will be an opportunity to introduce the related issues to the businesspersons in the country and discuss ways of improving their skills. Besides, it will focus on how to hire them at local companies and make the best of their potential, as an integral part of the society,” he said.
Al-Sharqi said “there are many people with disability who could be considered models in their field of expertise and have made considerable professional achievements.
He urged investors and employers to integrate them within their career line and provide them with the adequate training to develop and advance in the job.
“QC will adopt such an initiative as part of its active role in the society. In addition, QC will provide this category of people with free training courses on different professional skills and career consultation service.”
