Sheikh Nasser receives “recertification” of Qatar Data Centre’s prestigious ISO 27001:2013 Information Security Management System (ISMS) in the presence of senior Ooredoo executives.
Ooredoo’s Qatar Data Centre has successfully achieved “recertification” of the prestigious ISO 27001:2013 Information Security Management System (ISMS), following a rigorous auditing process.
Achieving compliance with the globally-recognised ISMS certification further positions the Qatar Data Centre as a leading data centre for organisations in the region, which is able to manage huge volumes of data and applications while providing the highest standards of information security for customers and stakeholders.
Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad bin Nasser al-Thani, Ooredoo Qatar chief new business officer said, “Achieving this certification demonstrates that Ooredoo continues to strive to offer world-class Data Centre across our operations. Our Qatar Data Centres provide incredible levels of support for organisations across Qatar, and this certification gives them the peace of mind of knowing that we deliver the highest standards of information security management.”
Achieving the renewed ISO recertification will help solidify Ooredoo’s reputation in the IT industry for delivering high-quality services from its command control centre at QDC 5, a one-of-its-kind data centre in Qatar.
The certificate is also important for Qatar’s local businesses who wish to use Ooredoo’s services, as it demonstrates the company’s clear and stringent process for ensuring data security, integrity, compliance to international standards, and the ability to grow and expand alongside a company’s data management needs.
“We have invested significantly in process, people and technology to ensure superior standards across our operations, particularly in the field of information security, which is an area of ever-growing concern for our customers,” Sheikh Nasser said.
The Qatar Data Centre is one of the most sophisticated and advanced compliant data centres in the region. The facility has been designed in compliance with world-class carrier standards and provides local and regional organisations with a full range of services including hosting & co-location, web content delivery, data backup and restoration, business continuity and disaster recovery, IT security and infrastructure monitoring and management.
