Qatar Music Academy (QMA) recently held a two-day professional development workshop for 55 music teachers in Doha, presented by Michael Griffin and the QMA music departments.
QMA is a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community
Development (QF).
Griffin is an educator, speaker, author, conductor and pianist. His talks are inspired by the theory of motivation and the premise that the greatest predictor of success is the quality and quantity of learning time.
“Griffin’s workshop aids QMA’s goal of fostering a thriving music culture in Qatar and the region, thereby supporting QF’s commitment to community development and enhanced understanding of arts and culture in Qatar,” according to a statement.
The workshop mainly focused on teaching and learning
strategies for musical success.
Dr Abdul Ghafour al-Heeti, principal of QMA, said: “Qatar Music Academy’s mission is to provide a world-class music education. Having this workshop has enabled QMA to develop music teachers in the region and enhance their respective music programmes.”
