HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani will perform Istisqa (rain-seeking) prayer at the Al Wajbah prayer area with citizen worshippers today. This is in line with the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The prayer is performed when rain is lacking. The Supreme Education Council (SEC) yesterday called on Independent schools in Qatar to urge its students and staff to perform Istisqa prayer today. Schools in Qatar have been performing Istisqa prayer every year with the participation of students and staff.
