The Torch Doha was lit up in blue, using 3,780 LED exterior lights, as the hotel joined the World Diabetes Day initiative on November 14.
“We are thrilled to support World Diabetes Day to raise public awareness globally and encourage every move around the world for the support of curing diabetes,” said Sherif Sabry, hotel manager.
Dr Abdullah al-Hamaq, executive director of Qatar Diabetes Association, said: “The lighting is testimony to the power of our combined efforts to alter the diabetes landscape and provide a strong visual element to attract attention to the diabetes cause. We are so grateful for the participation of The Torch Doha in celebration of World Diabetes Day.
“With this gesture, The Torch has joined hundreds famous buildings in more than 80 countries around the world.”
Digital screens within and outside the hotel highlight The Torch Doha’s participation in the initiative by raising awareness publicly for guests and staff members.
