Qatargas recently held the annual Qatarisation Forum for its national graduates and their coaches.
The main purpose of this year’s forum was to give the national graduates an opportunity to think about what it might mean for them to be a future leader in Qatargas, according to a statement.
The forum provided a platform for the national graduates and their coaches to share their experiences and challenges in Qatargas.
Mohamed al-Hail, financial accounting controller, shared his journey in Qatargas and offered some practical pieces of advice to both the coaches and the graduates. Jassim al-Baker, treasury operation and compliance specialist, shared his experience and success story as a national graduate and encouraged the new graduates to take advantage of the learning opportunities provided to them by Qatargas and take ownership of their development.
The forum also focused on enhancing communication and feedback between the coaches and the national graduates to have a better understanding of each other’s roles and
responsibilities.
As part of the forum, the Leadership Development and Succession Planning Division conducted a Leadership Activity, which highlighted the importance of certain skills such as communication, teamwork and time management, while also giving the participants a taste of the Leadership Development Programme launched this year.
The Activate Leadership Development Programme is a two-day workshop designed to ensure that the graduates are given the necessary tools that will enable them to become future leaders in the company. The programme focuses on providing the fundamental tools for leadership, teamwork and communication through experiential
learning.
At the forum, the Learning and Development Focus Group members who completed their term (2013-2015) were recognised for their outstanding efforts and contribution to the national graduate community.
The annual Qatarisation Forum is one of several platforms that provide an opportunity for national graduates to engage in open discussions with the head of Qatarisation and national development, ask questions or raise concerns and suggestions related to their training and development programmes.
