Ooredoo has announced that it will provide Hala customers of its Mobile Money service with free bonus data when they deposit cash into their Mobile Wallet accounts over the next three months.
The promotion, which runs until February 12, 2016, rewards customers for using Ooredoo Mobile Money with free data bundles, with the size of the bundle increasing depending on the amount of cash paid in by the customer.
“Once cash is deposited into a mobile money wallet, customers can use the deposited money to transfer money home to 200 countries using MoneyGram for a fee as low as QR1 to some countries. Users can also top up Hala accounts (with 10% extra recharge bonus), pay Ooredoo bills or send money locally to another mobile,” according to a statement.
Now, customers who deposit cash into their Ooredoo Mobile Money account will be able to use the free Internet data to talk to loved ones online, post on social media, stream movies and take advantage of the Ooredoo Supernet.
Customers who make a Mobile Money deposit with a value of between QR100 and QR499 will receive 100MB of free data, valid for one day. Customers who cash in QR499-999 will get 750MB of free data valid for two days, while those who pay QR1,000-1,999 into their accounts can enjoy 2GB of data valid for three days.
At the top level, customers who cash in QR2,000-3,999 will get 4GB of free data valid for seven days, while users who cash in QR4,000 or more can enjoy 6GB of data for 10 days, the statement adds.
Customers can register for Mobile Money for free with a valid Qatar ID at any Ooredoo shop, by dialling *140# or by downloading the free Ooredoo Money App on their mobile and following the on-screen instructions.
Once registered, customers can take advantage of the data offer by cashing in money for free into their mobile wallet using any of over 200 Ooredoo self-service machines available throughout Qatar. Deposits can also be made through Ooredoo shops or direct transfer from any QNB account through the QNB Mobile Payment service.
