Dolphin Energy officials with top performing contractors.

Dolphin Energy has awarded the achievements of five contractors during its 8th Annual HSE Contractors Forum 2015 to enhance the company’s health, safety and environment (HSE) commitments.
The forum, held at the Hilton Hotel Doha, brought together the company’s HSE contractors under the theme “Partnering Towards HSE Citizenship in the Workforce.” Its objectives focused on learning methods for eliminating accidents, encouraging contractor leaders to reflect on how their business is performing against the company’s HSE model, and maximising employees’ ability to achieve high-performance without risking their lives and others.
The forum also highlighted Dolphin Energy’s risk, control, and assurance framework, which is helping protect lives, the environment, and property. It also rewarded contractors for their commitments to HSE.
Five awards and certificates of appreciation were distributed among the best performing companies. They are Qatar Engineering & Construction Company for Contractor of the Year 2015; Engineering Maintenance Company (Runner Up Contractor of the Year and Safety Poster Runner Up); Descon Engineering Qatar (Safety Poster Winner); and QCON (Safety Poster, third place).
Dolphin Energy-Qatar general manager Hassan al-Emadi said: “We have established an effective communication protocol with our HSE contractors, which is helping us achieve important milestones.
“These include successfully achieving 100% plant availability for the sixth consecutive year and utilising more than 42mn man hours without a single lost time incident or injury. Recognising and rewarding the efforts of our contractors can only encourage this commitment to continue.”
Ali al-Rahbi, chief operating officer – Qatar, said: “Striving for the highest levels of HSE will always be a combined effort and we will continue to collaborate with our contractor partners to maintain optimum asset performance and integrity while ensuring the welfare of all employees at all times.”
The HSE contractors meeting included a discussion on the theme “Poster Presentations and Voting” – a “Who Wants to be a Safety Millionaire” competition and award distribution for poster presentations. Forty vouchers were also distributed among the winners of the safety competitions.
The forum was attended by more than 200 participants, including representatives from Dolphin Energy’s senior management team. In addition to al-Emadi and al-Rahbi, other attendees were Ahmed al-Jumaily, SVP HSE&S Qatar; Hamad al-Marri, director Field HSE&S, and Jassim al-Malki, senior manager HSE&S Performance and Compliance.
“Our aim is not only to lead by example but to work closely with our contractors and build a safe, productive, and efficient work environment. Sustained operational excellence in the area of HSE will always be encouraged to help ensure a safe and healthy workplace now and in the future,” al-Emadi said.
