Qatar Fuel (Woqod) opened its latest service station in Al Khor’s Thakhira area. This is Woqod’s 28th station.

The new service station was inaugurated in the presence of Woqod chairman Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan al-Thani, CEO engineer Ibrahim al-Kuwari, and several board members and senior management team, in addition to high profile guests from diverse business sectors.

The Thakhira service station includes three fuelling islands with six dispensers. The station will also offer round-the-clock services to the Al Khor and Ras Laffan communities including a Sidra convenience store, oil change, auto and manual car wash facilities, auto repair and purchase of a wide range of fuel products such as lubes and LPG cylinders.

Al-Kuwari said: “We are continuing with our ambitious expansion plans to reach and serve each and every neighbourhood in Qatar. The launch of the Thakhira service station will help us address the growing demand for more service stations across Qatar, in line with the expected population growth over the next few years.”

This is the fifth new Woqod service station opened this year. Al Lagthafiya Al Wakra, Wajba and Lijimiliya were the stations that opened earlier. Woqod’s expansion strategy seeks to increase the total number of service stations operated by the company to 100 by 2019 given land availability by the authorities.

The 12 service stations under construction are expected to open by end of this year and early next year.
