Jury members for the 11th edition of the Aljazeera International Documentary Film Festival will start reviewing on November 20 the 147 films categorised into short, medium and long.
The jury panel includes Dr Rabia al-Kuwari (Qatar), Dr Khaled al-Zadjali (Oman), cinematographer Rossella Piccinno (Italy), renowned director Jose Sanchez-Montes (Spain),   Jelena Mila (Sweden), Hala Zuraiqat (Jordan); Abdullah Abu Awad (Morocco), Professor Tongdao Zhang, Dr Maryse Gargour (France), Kaveh Askari (Iran), cinematographer Chaker Ayadi (Tunisia), producer Omar Olzabal Rodriguez (Cuba), Dr Erkan Buker (Turkey), and Galina Krasnoborova (Russia).
The jury panel will split into three sub-committees to oversee the three categories of the festival competitions and nominate the winning films for the designated awards.
In this edition, the festival bears “Horizons” as a motto, which represents the ambitious vision of the 11th edition. It opens great horizons before creative amateur and professional directors and producers. This edition will also witness distinguished films in the three categories.
The motto of each festival theme resembles the identity of each edition of the festival that documents 11 years journey in disseminating films in the realm of documentary films.
The administration of Aljazeera International Documentary Film Festival endeavours to encourage co-operation between innovators and directors, as well as building a multi-spectrum humane culture. It also tries to turn this event into a meeting place for filmmakers from different countries and cultures; innovative and talented youth, and establishing for a culture interested in
documentary films.
