Qatar-based SAK Holding Group has received the “Industry Ecosystem Innovation” award for its “Partner with us” initiative during the “Construction Innovation Awards Qatar 2015” ceremony held recently.
The Construction Innovation Awards, organised by BNC Publishing under the Construction Business News portfolio, recognised 20 organisations in the fields of design, engineering, contracting, MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) services, and sustainability.
During the event, Qatar Chamber vice chairman Mohamed bin Towar al-Kuwari underscored “the resilience of Qatar’s economy,” which will help enhance collaboration between private and public sector entities. On behalf of BNC Publishing, managing partner Wissma Younane congratulated the winners and thanked them for their contributions to the construction sector.
“The people at this ceremony are not just building things, they are building a nation.
When people look back at the innovative solutions that created Qatar, they will remember the undertaking of all the companies honoured at the Construction Innovation Awards and the structures which have been executed with the highest standards of industry excellence,” he said.
Activity in Qatar’s construction sector has increased rapidly over recent years making it one of the world’s most active construction markets, with a project pipeline valued in excess of $280bn. The projects include Doha Metro, New Doha Port, Valley City, and facilities for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Under the Qatar National Vision 2030, economic, social, environmental, and human development will be prioritised by the government.
