HE the Chief of Staff of the Qatari Armed Forces Major General Ghanem bin Shaheen al-Ghanem with other armed forces officers during the joint military exercise with Turkish Armed Forces in Doha yesterday.

The Qatari Armed Forces carried out joint military drills with the Turkish Armed Forces in Doha under the patronage and in the presence of HE the Chief of Staff of the Qatari Armed Forces Major General Ghanem bin Shaheen al-Ghanem.
Director of the exercise Brigadier Fahad Mohamed al-Duhaimi said that “Nasr 2015” is a headquarters exercise, in addition to being a tactical exercise with troops. Qatar’s Emiri Land Forces, Special Forces, Emiri Guard and the National Service as well as Turkish troops took part in the exercise.  
Brigadier al-Duhaimi added that “Nasr 2015” was implemented in three phases: The first was the preparation and processing phase, the second had two parts: the headquarters exercise and the tactical exercise with troops, while the third phase was for the final brief and lessons learned.  
He underlined that the purpose of this exercise is to train leaders on assessment of the situation, planning, command and control, and co-ordination between the Land Forces, the Emiri Guard and the Turkish forces with the participation of the National Service.
He added that the exercise also aims at training in communications, intelligence, logistics, and training or organising and trading operational, intelligence and management reports and co-ordination between the different commands, as well as training the National Service personnel to work with the Land Forces units to raise the efficiency of combat in the field. The ‘Nasr 2015’ drill also aims to share experiences with Turkish troops.
The exercise was designed to achieve the mission of the Emiri Land Forces with the participation of the Emir Guard and the Turkish Forces in defending the territory and airspace of the State and its vital economic and strategic facilities, Brigadier al-Duhaimi added.
