The Qatar Development Fund (QDF) and the Carter Centre have signed a framework partnership agreement specifying common areas of action and the general principles for the management of initiatives and activities between the two parties, and identifying the vision and common goals.
The agreement was signed by QDF’s  Executive Director Ali Abdullah al-Dabbagh and Carter Centre’s Director of Special Health Projects Stephen Blount.
It aims at following-up and finding opportunities for co-operation to control diseases, implement activities to develop healthcare in the countries of strategic importance to both sides. The agreement allows, as well, the exchange of experiences and useful information to achieve the goals of sustainable development.
The Carter Centre will provide its technical expertise in the health sector and treatment of diseases, while the Qatar Development Fund will give various forms of support to the health sector in poor and developing countries in order to achieve one of the most important goals of sustainable development.  
The agreement also seeks to facilitate access to bilateral and multilateral partnerships as well as to the parties of interest to both sides, in addition to the exchange of information on related projects as well as the promotion of this partnership at the global level in order to encourage other parties to engage in development activities.
The framework partnership agreement is valid for 5 years, renewable.  
The agreement signing was attended by Director General of Qatar Fund for Development Khalifa Jassim al-Kuwari and Chief Development Officer at The Carter Centre Curtis Kohlhaas, among others.
