Some have simplified it as an owner’s manual on how to use your brain while some others call it the art and science of excellence, derived from studying how achievers across fields have made it happen.
NLP, which stands for Neuro-Linguistic Programming, can be summarised in a hundred varied ways but at its heart, it encompasses three critical components that create and shape human experience – neurology, language and programming.
“NLP is a powerful system of thinking that can accelerate the achievement of your personal and professional goals,” says Jack Canfield in The Success Principles.
Sue Knight, author of best-selling book NLP at Work, which describes how to apply powerful behavioural change techniques in a practical and effective way, is among the world’s top NLP trainers. The good news is that she will be training in Doha from October 23 to October 29 from 9:30am to 5pm with the exception of a 10am start on day one and 3pm finish on the last day. The venue is Hilton Hotel and the fees is QR11,995.
Knight, who delivers her programmes in the UK, France, India, and Australia, was the first in the world to run ‘Business Practitioner’ training and has spent many years pioneering the use of NLP in the workplace. By learning NLP, you learn patterns and skills, according to the website NLPCO, “necessary to make positive changes, create new choices, be more effective with others, break free of old habits, self-destructive patterns and behaviours, and think more clearly about what it is you want and how to get it.”
Knight says, “NLP is the study of excellence. It is an attitude of learning, curiosity and respect for unique ways of being in the world.” Knight’s style of training is often described as emergent in the sense that she works with what is happening in the moment in the context of the outcomes for the programme and the current frame she is working in.
Empower World, which has made the announcement on Knight’s training session, says you can find out more about this course by sending an e-mail to [email protected]. As for what to expect from attending this training, here are some of the programme’s promises: “You can expect to have accelerated your ability to create a home and work environment full of learning, integrity, and care for others, quality and success. You will do this in the company of other people who have a passion for making a difference in the world today. You will become part of a network of like-minded people throughout the course and online where you can share your learnings with.”
According to the organisers, by the end of the programme, you will be able to develop the internal flexibility and emotional strength to respond appropriately and creatively to events and changes in your work and your life; achieve a state of openness and acceptance of the stimuli for learning that exist in all contexts of your work and life; and learn how to build and commit to long-term relationships that are fulfilling and successful, among other benefits.
