HH the Deputy Emir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani, who is also the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Qatar University, chaired the first meeting of the board of the 2015-2016 academic year held at the Emiri Diwan yesterday.
The board presented a review of its decisions and recommendations of the fourth meeting of the previous academic year. The board also discussed the annual report of the university’s president on the 2014/2015 academic year. The report focused on students as well as scientific research and community service.
Afterwards, the board discussed the budget for 2016 and also agreed to appoint Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Khanji as vice president for Student Affairs.
Council team off to Tunisia
A delegation from the Advisory Council left Doha yesterday morning for Tunisia to participate in the Arab Parliament meeting starting today. The delegation includes members of the Council Yusuf Rashid al-Khater, Mubarak Ghanim al-Ali and the legal adviser at the Council, Dr Mohamed Ibrahim Shahbek.

Mauritanian Minister of Fisheries and Maritime Economy Nany Ould Chrougha yesterday met Qatar’s ambassador to Nouakchott Abdulrahman bin Ali al-Ajaj al-Kubaisi. Talks during the meeting focused on bilateral relations and ways of boosting them.
lThe Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Qatar Media Corp HE Sheikh Abdurrahman bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday met French ambassador to Qatar Eric Chevallier. Talks dealt with the media relations between the two countries.
