The Bedaya Centre for Entrepreneurship and SME Development (Bedaya Centre) has hosted a networking event during its monthly meeting with entrepreneurs to shed light on how to create a strong brand.
The meeting, which was held in Katara, gathered young Qataris and provides access to guidance and training, as well as support for their businesses by introducing experts who share “valuable insight and experience.”
The speakers during the event were Dogma founder Abdulla al-Mannai, Be Creative co-founder Ramazan al-Naimi, and Rawaj founders Amal Essa and Shaimaa al-Harmouzicou.
The speakers emphasised that a strong brand differentiates a company from the competition, creates trust among customers, and motivates employees. Similarly, a strong brand raises the profile of a company and ensures that it communicates its strengths efficiently.
They also discussed how Qatari SMEs could create brand dominance through innovative services that generate a strong brand mainly through social media and social networks.
The speakers also stressed that with appropriate strategies, Qatari SMEs “can successfully navigate the complex and volatile business environment.”
Bedaya Centre general manager Reem al-Suwaidi said: “As Qatar seeks to diversify its economy and promote SMEs, it is imperative that more Qatari startups must increasingly consider how they want to present their products and services with as much transparency as possible.
“A strong brand is a success factor for startups. The startups are well placed to gain a competitive advantage by utilising innovative communication channels such as social media. Unlike traditional channels, social media carries no distribution costs and levels the playing field for all companies.”
A joint initiative by Qatar Development Bank and Silatech, Bedaya’s monthly meeting is held every second Sunday of the month and serves as a networking event that focuses on highlighting specific topics that assist startups and Qatar SMEs.
