Qatar’s official Haj Mission arrived in Makkah yesterday to assume its duties in creating appropriate conditions for the pilgrims from the country, so that they can perform their rituals easily and comfortably.
Immediately after the arrival, the mission began its official duties through its support for committees by arranging preparations at the holy sites in order to ensure readiness to receive the pilgrims.
The number of pilgrims from Qatar this year is 1,200 - 900 citizens and 300 residents.
HE the Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf) Dr Ghaith bin Mubarak al-Kuwari on Tuesday issued a decision forming the mission.
Dr Abdulsalam Ali al-Qahtani is the executive president of the mission. The mission represents the state in the annual Haj conference and participates in committees, conferences and seminars held during the season.
The Qatari mission is also tasked with providing services to the pilgrims including aspects of awareness, guidance, treatment and resolving their issues, and work on whatever that facilitates performing their rituals in a proper way.
