The Ministry of Interior, represented by the National Traffic Safety Committee, has won the award for ‘Leadership in Traffic Safety and Law Enforcement’ for 2015. The award was presented by IQPC- International Quality and Productivity Centre as part of its fourth annual world Summit on Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) and Traffic Safety, which concluded in Doha yesterday.
The summit was held under the auspices of the Public Works Authority with the participation of Gulf and international experts.
Brig Mohamed Abdullah al-Malki, secretary of the National Traffic Safety Committee stressed that this award is in recognition of the contribution of the National Strategy for Traffic Safety in the State of Qatar in reduction of traffic accidents, ensuring traffic safety on the roads, lowering death and injury rate at the state level and the adoption of the concept of smart administration to enhance institutional co-ordination thus contributing in achieving Qatar Vision 2030.
He pointed out that the Ministry of Interior had participated in the contest for this award over the past four years in  ITS & Traffic Safety summit. This award is evaluated by independent authorities responsible for traffic safety involving representatives from all GCC countries.
He stressed that this award demonstrates the interest of the State of Qatar in the implementation of the national strategy and the implementation of action plans in this strategy.
