The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has announced a 17-month diversion in both directions on the Industrial Area road known as Mesaieed Road.
The diversion, which begins on Wednesday, will continue until mid-February, 2017. Ashghal is implementing this diversion to facilitate the construction of bridges and associated road works on the Orbital Highway Project.
The diversion, which stretches 1km, is located 10km from Al Wakrah and 7.5km north of Mesaieed Industrial City. The alternative route is approximately 4km from the Sealine petrol station.
The alternative route will be in the form of a roundabout, enabling vehicles travelling on Mesaieed Road towards Al Wakrah and those coming from Al Wakrah in the opposite direction to bypass the construction zone and return to the original road (see map).
In a statement, Ashghal has requested all road users to abide by the speed limit and follow road signs to ensure everyone’s safety.
