Mall of Qatar (MoQ), the under-construction major leisure, entertainment and shopping complex, has signed up Hamleys, the oldest toy shop in the world and one of the best-known retailers of toys, to open its first outlet in Qatar.
As a double-height department store of 2,386sqm, Hamleys will offer its own range of toys not available in any other toy store. Hamleys will be echoing MoQ’s focus on live entertainment by offering ongoing toy events, character visits, theatrical elements and daily parades.
Rony Mourani, general manager of MoQ, said: “We are bringing the world’s most iconic toy store to Doha. Hamleys is a fairy-tale brand that is much more than a toy store, offering children a magical toy emporium where they can enjoy live and interactive demonstrations of their favourite toys.”
The 255-year-old Hamleys has a range of more than 20,000 toys and exclusive merchandise. Hamleys Own Brand range, known for its “exceptional quality and play value”, will also be exclusively available in the Mall of Qatar.
Among the highlights of the Hamleys experience are “toy demonstrators and magicians, unique demos and iconic fixtures, exciting events and activities”.
Hamleys is celebrating 255 years in the business, having gained an “international reputation for being the best loved toy store in the world”, selling its special brand of magic to families and children around the world.
