Qatar Chamber (QC) vice chairman Mohamed bin Tuwar yesterday met with Afghanistan’s Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Affairs Dr Hessamuddin Hamra and his accompanying delegation.
They discussed the possibility of recruiting Afghani manpower to Qatar and ways to enhance investment opportunities in Afghanistan.
Bin Tuwar welcomed the visiting team stressing the good relations between Qatar and Afghanistan. He praised the signing of manpower agreement between the two countries in 2008 saying that “it is a good step that will provide the national market with qualified and trained manpower”.
“The upcoming ten years will witness implementing mega projects especially in the infrastructure sector, businessmen may make good advantage of the Afghani manpower in these projects,” he added.
He further stressed QC’s readiness to provide the Afghani side with the required information and the companies willing to recruit manpower in their works.
He also affirmed Qatari businessmen’s desire to explore the available investment opportunities in Afghanistan. There will be co-ordination with the Afghanistan embassy to organise a meeting for this purpose, he added.
