Doha

The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has announced a traffic diversion at the Leabaib Roundabout as part of its efforts to develop the roads in the area surrounding Al Duhail military camp. The diversion will enable the conversion of the roundabout into a signalised intersection.
Two lanes will remain open in both directions during the diversion period which comprises two phases:
Phase one starts on Thursday midnight and lasts until Saturday evening. The existing roundabout will become wider. Vehicles coming from Al Duhail South Street and Al Tarfa Street will be able to pass though the roundabout in all directions.
Vehicles coming from the north side of the Arab League Street - from the direction of the previously known Radar Roundabout - will not be able to go through the roundabout and instead must make a right turn at the Leabaib Roundabout onto Al Duhail South Street, make a U-turn at the next roundabout and return to Leabaib Roundabout to be able to get to Arab League Street.
Vehicles heading towards the roundabout from the southern side of Arab League Street must make a right turn at Leabaib Roundabout onto Al Tarfa Street, then make a U-turn at the traffic signal in front of Qatar University's female campus and turn right again near the Leabaib Roundabout to return to Arab League Street.
Phase two will start this Saturday and last four months.Traffic will be able to go through the Leabaib Roundabout from the Arab League Street in both directions, north and south, following the completion of asphalt works in the areas surrounding the roundabout at the previous diversion location highlighted in blue in the attached map. This will allow traffic to flow through the Leabaib Roundabout in all directions.
Ashghal has urged all road users to abide by speed limits and traffic signs to ensure their safety.
