The Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC) has announced the recall of 2009-2012 Man Trucks due to defects in brake pipes, the MEC said in a statement.
The MEC said the defects on vehicles with chassis numbers, WMAHW2ZZ2AM549730, WMAHW2ZZ2AM549761, and WMAHW2ZZ3AM549770 “may cause unwanted application of parking brake while the vehicle is in motion.”
The recall, in collaboration with Qatar International Automobiles, the dealer of Man Truck in Qatar, forms part of the ongoing co-ordination and follow-up by the MEC to determine dealer’s commitment to follow-up and repair defects and protecting consumers’ rights.
The MEC said it will co-ordinate with Qatar International Automobiles to follow up the necessary maintenance and repair processes. It will also communicate with clients to ensure the success of the recall campaign, as well as the implementation of the procedures to fix the defects.
Consumers are urged to report any abuses or irregularities by communicating with the Department of Consumer Protection and Commercial Fraud Combat, which will receive complaints, suggestions, and inquiries through the following channels: Hotline, 16000; email, [email protected]; and social media accounts (Twitter) @MEC_Qatar; (Instagram) MEC_Qatar, as well as the MEC mobile app for Android and IOS, MEC_Qatar.
Consumers can also submit their complaints through electronic systems installed in malls. These systems allow consumers to communicate with the Department of Consumer Protection and Commercial Fraud Combat directly.
