The Beaches and Islands Section at the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning has conducted a clean-up drive on Al Safliya Island.
Waste, timber, plastic bags and other things left behind by visitors were removed from the island.
Garbage was also collected from bins placed on the beach.
The beaches section has urged all visitors to refrain from dumping waste anywhere other than designated containers and bins to preserve the beaches and islands and maintain a clean environment.
