Traffic violations decreased by 12.9% in June compared to incidents recorded in the previous month, the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics (MDP&S) said in the 18th edition of Qatar Monthly Statistics Bulletin.
The bulletin is released by the MDP&S on a monthly basis to identify developments and changes in the social and economic aspects in Qatar.
The MDP&S bulletin said there were 126,503 traffic violations accounted for in June 2015, with a negative month-on-month change of 12.9% compared to last May.
The bulletin also revealed that Qatar’s population reached 2.3mn at the end of June or a 9.0% increase compared to the 2.1mn recorded in June 2014.
Visitors to Qatar increased by 7.3% in June compared to the same period in 2014. Visitors from GCC countries, registering 40.7%, made up the highest proportion of total visitors, it said.
The bulletin also highlighted that there were 9,933 vehicles registered in June compared to 9,853 in May, with a negative month-on-month change of 0.8% compared to last May.
Also, the total broad money supply (M2) reached QR532bn in June 2015 or 9.9% year-on-year rise, while cash equivalents, including deposits, increased by 2.1% to reach QR644bn for the same period.
