Al Sadd’s Algerian midfielder Nadir Belhadj has expressed his hunger to become the Qatar Stars Leagues best player again ahead of the new season. The tenacious midfielder gave a wide ranging interview with Al Sadd’s official website, at the club’s preseason training camp in Austria.
Speaking of his new two year contract the former Algerian international said “I am very happy to sign an extension with Al Sadd. I have been with this club for five years, I feel like they have been family to me. I would also like to thank the club management and staff, who have helped me exceed over the years.”
Talk then turned to the new Qatar Stars League season. “I think that a club like Al Sadd will always be striving for titles and championships both in Qatar and abroad. We have prepared well so far, and I think that will only continue but I feel that the team has really come together at this camp. This will help Al Sadd in achieving their goals for next season.”
The interview concluded with a few words about Al Sadd’s summer acquisition, Xavi Hernandez. “Xavi has made his mark on European and World football, having won every title with Barcelona and the Spanish national side. He will bring a real glamour to Al Sadd and the Qatar Stars League.”

Defender Ahmed Fathi to leave Umm Salal

Umm Salal have announced the mutual termination of Egyptian international defender Ahmed Fathi’s contract. The announcement came on Monday night from the club’s official Twitter account. The club moved quickly to replace Fathi by signing defender Welinton Souza, from Brazilian club Flamenco on a one year contract.
In other news, Umm Salal have announced a friendly match with fellow Qatar Stars League side Al Gharafa. The match is set to kick off at 7:00pm today evening at the Thani Bin Jassim, home of Al Gharafa.
Umm Salal are then set to travel to their preseason training camp in the Netherlands on the 2nd of August, as part of their preparations for the new season they will face fellow Qatar Stars League side Al Rayyan. The Qatar Stars league season starts on the 11th of September.

Umm Salal sign Brazilian defender welinton souza
Umm Salal have announced the signing of  defender Welinton Souza, from Brazilian club Flamenco on a one year deal. The player under went a medical and signed his contract in front of club officials.The player can play across the defence and will be a versatile addition to the squad.

El Jaish sign Moroccan striker Abderrazak Hamdallah
El Jaish have announced the signing of Moroccan international stiker Abderrazak Hamdallah from Chinese Super League side Guangzhou R&F.
The striker has been brought in by the club to bolster it’s attacking options ahead of the kick off of the Qatar Stars League Season. The 24 year old striker has signed a two year deal with the side, he is set to join up with his new team-mates at El Jaish’s preseason training camp in Austria.
Abderrazak started his career with Moroccan side Olympic Safi in 2012 before heading to Norwegian Premier League side Aalesunds. After becoming the side’s top goal scorer in just his first season, he was signed by ambitious Chinese Super League side Guangzhou R&F with a record fee paid to a Norwegian side.

Khor draw with Kharaitiyat in friendly.

Al Khor drew 1-1 with fellow Qatar Stars League side Al Kharaitiyat in a friendly match as both teams ramp up preparations for the new Qatar Stars League season.
Al Khor took the lead through Brazilian stiker Julio Cesar in the tenth minute of the match, with Al Kharaitiyat equalising in the 85th minute.
The match gave a change for both coaches to look at their squads before both teams depart Doha for their preseason training camps. Al Kharaitiyat are set to travel to Slovenia, whilst Al Khor are heading to the Netherlands.

Al Sailiya to face Al Shahania in friendly
Al Sailiya have announced a friendly with Qatar Gas League side Al Shahania, as the club prepares for the start of the Qatar Stars League season. The match is set to kick off tomorrow evening at the clubs training ground.
The friendly will give Sailiya coach Sami Trabelsi the chance to look at his squad ahead of departing to their preseason camp in Munich, Germany. The Falcons are set to leave Doha on the 4th of August and return on the 25th of the same month. They will play four friendlies in total, incluiding matches against Emerati side Ajman and Bundesliga 2 outfit FC Nürnberg.
