COLOURS: Buyers flocking the popular Turkish mosaic lamps stall at the Ramadan Souq.

Aesthetically decorated and illuminated for the holy month of Ramadan, the Katara Cultural Valley has hosted hundreds of visitors from Iftar to Suhoor every day. Driving through its artificially-lit streets, hundreds of people filled the Katara Ramadan Souq especially set up at Esplanade, housing shops selling traditional materials including jewellery, clothes, decoration pieces and artworks coming from different parts of the Middle East and Turkey. The children were entertained with puppet shows, dome cinema, art exhibitions and workshops. Four lucky winners received QR5,000 each on finding treasure during a competition held every Friday of the holy month. While some activities are over, the Ramadan Souq will continue to welcome visitors till the end of Eid holidays. The exhibitions are also continuing. Photos and Text: Umer Nangiana
