QIIB’s mobile banking service has many innovative services and options, ranging from transfer of funds and live location maps of branches and ATMs, as well as money transfer service in association with Western Union, which is the first of its kind in Qatar. Customers can also access comprehensive account information through the bank’s mobile banking service.
Customers can now transfer money between internal and external accounts without having to visit the bank’s branches, QIIB said. Live location maps enable customers to spot QIIB branches and ATMs across the country.
QIIB deputy CEO Jamal Abdullah al-Jamal said, “We at QIIB are very pleased with the official launching of this service, which became a banking necessity in the modern world where smart technologies and services are required to allow customers to perform their banking transactions wherever they are and at any time.
QIIB’s team worked on developing a mobile banking service, which will be a virtual branch in the hands of customers”.
He said, “For the first time in Qatar, QIIB has launched a money transfer service with Western Union through mobile banking. This allows customers to perform their transactions in a few minutes and spares them of the trouble of having to go to money transfer centres and wait for a long time.
We are delighted with this partnership with Western Union, through which money transfer service has become possible through mobile banking”.
QIIB mobile banking offers a distinct set of services that include viewing the details of the accounts and finances as well as transferring funds inside and outside of Qatar with a maximum daily amount of QR100,000. Customers can also transfer funds directly through Western Union service up to $7,500 a day (equivalent to QR27,375) and directly pay Ooredoo and Kahramaa bills.
QIIB banking mobile service is available on all types of smart phones such as iPhones, Android and Windows Phones in addition to BlackBerry. All that customers need to do to take advantage of this service is to download ‘QIIB Mobile’ from online app stores, complete the registration using a debit card (ATM card) number and PIN.
