Bangladesh authorities have initiated a number of security measures at the official residence of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,

As part of the new steps, a new high wall is being raised around Ganabhaban, the official residence of the Bangladesh prime minister, officials said.
The proposed 12ft high wall will skirt the existing 9ft high wall which was built in 1970s.
Already two major roads – the one beside Crescent Lake linking Bijoy Sarani and a stretch of Mirpur Road – have been kept off limits to traffic after 10pm.
According to the PMO protocol, the existing wall does not conform to the present key point installation (KPI) guidelines that stipulated KPI walls to be at least 12ft in height.
The public works department favoured construction of the proposed wall outside the existing wall to save the trees in the area.
It noted that a large number of trees would have to be felled if the proposed wall was raised inside the existing wall.
The prime minister and her family moved to Ganabhaban in 2010 after staying in state guesthouse Jamuna since
February 2009.
She moved there from her Dhanmondi residence Sudha Sadan a month after taking oath as the prime minister for the second stint.
