Qatar participates in FAO conference in Rome
Qatar took part in the 39th session of FAO conference, which opened yesterday in Rome and lasts until June 13.
HE the Minister of Environment Ahmed Amer Mohamef al-Humaidi is leading Qatar’s delegation that includes Abdulaziz bin Ahmed al-Malki al-Jehani, Qatar’s ambassador to Italy and permanent representative to UN organisations in Rome, and the accompanying delegation.
Held biennially, the conference is set to discuss issues including food status, agriculture, markets of food commodities, global food security, FAO-related Millennium Development Goals, and FAO policies and organisational issues.
The conference will also endorse the re-election of FAO director general for a second four-year term.

GCC labour ministers met the Director-General of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) Guy Ryder on the sidelines of the 104th session of the International Labour Conference, currently taking place in Geneva.
Heading the GCC side was HE the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs Abdullah Saleh Mubarak al-Khulaifi, the chair of the current meeting of GCC labour ministers.
