Andy Murray has always been noted as an animal lover who is more than happy to take an active role in the lives of his four-legged friends.
The world number three is a patron of the World Wildlife Fund and also makes sure he lavishes attention on his own pair of hounds, Maggie May and Rusty. The pair of pooches live in millionaire splendour—canine style—at Murray’s Surrey mansion near London.
And while they are house-bound, the yapping pair are never short of attention. That’s because Murray makes sure to Skype his dogs on a regular basis from tournament sites all over the world.
While he’s currently in the thick of the title fight at the French Open, the Scot is always able to make time for a computer video “chat” with his little wonders. “I Skype the dogs all the time, but they never respond,” he told London’s My VIP magazine. “Even if I say their name, I get nothing back!”
But when he’s at home, it’s a full-time job just looking after the furry friends. Multiple gossip magazine pictures have showed Murray and new wife Kim Sears walking the hounds in the surrounding countryside near their home.
And they apparently have a few party trick turns as well: “Kim likes to bring them out when we have people round for dinner. They’re really great dogs - I absolutely love them to bits, and they have a lot of personality.”
