Ooredoo experts with senior hoteliers and tourism chiefs at a special event at Ooredoo’s HQ1 Tower in West Bay.

Ooredoo is introducing a range of cutting-edge solutions targeting Qatar’s hospitality sector, enabling hotels and travel operators to deploy the latest technology to deliver the best possible visitor experience.
Qatar is pursuing an “ambitious” tourism strategy that aims to attract between 6.7mn and 7.4mn tourists annually by 2030, and smart hospitality solutions are set to play a key role in managing and entertaining this influx of visitors.
At a special event at Ooredoo’s HQ1 Tower in West Bay, senior hoteliers and tourism chiefs met with Ooredoo experts to review smart hospitality innovations at Ooredoo’s OASIS Lab, the world-class facility, which enables companies to trial and demo new solutions.
During the visit, industry representatives were able to see a range of solutions tailored for the hospitality sector, including Next Generation IPTV, Smart Wi-Fi, Ooredoo Cloud Voice & Collaboration Suite, Ooredoo Web Cloud Security and Push-to-Talk, all delivered over Ooredoo’s bigger, faster network.
Ooredoo chief operating officer Waleed Mohamed al-Sayed said, “The hospitality sector is one of the key pillars of Qatar’s dynamic economy, and is an area where communications technology can make a huge impact. Ooredoo supports many of Qatar’s leading hotels with solutions to provide the fastest in-room Wi-Fi as well as an incredible range of entertainment over fibre. The new generation of Smart Hospitality solutions will enable companies to deliver the best guest experience, and help them to more effectively manage communication costs and energy use.”
In recent years, customer expectations of the guest experience have changed. With the rapid growth of mobile devices, Wi-Fi, and video on-demand, guests now arrive expecting to enjoy the same always-on, always-connected experiences they have at home, at work, and on the go.
To meet these needs, Ooredoo has launched a range of “Smart Hospitality” solutions, which combine “world-leading” wireless, security, communications, and collaboration technologies. These solutions enable hotels to create new guest experiences, simplify the hotel network, lower IT costs on property, centralise business data for better analytics and drive global growth without requiring a lot of IT experience on-site.
Ooredoo has signed a number of cutting-edge agreements with leading hotels in recent months, including agreements to provide high-speed Fibre Internet and multi-screen next generation Multiscreen TV in every room.
The event was the latest in a series of “Business brunches” from Ooredoo, which reach out to specific sectors to showcase new services and solutions.
Ooredoo has taken the lead in introducing new “smart solutions” for a range of industries, including smart traffic management, smart health and smart home services, all delivered on Ooredoo’s bigger, faster network.
Business customers can visit the OASIS Lab during working hours via an appointment with Ooredoo’s business team to see the range of services dedicated for their own sectors.
