United Fashion Company (UFC), a wholly owned subsidiary of United Development Company (UDC), has announced that the London furniture brand, Black Orchid Interiors, will make its Middle East debut with the unveiling of a store at The Pearl-Qatar in late June this year.
The brand, which offers a collection of homeware accessories, furniture and soft furnishings, is already sold on London’s prestigious Oxford Street in retail giant House of Fraser.
Theo Swart, UFC general manager, stressed that Black Orchid’s arrival at The Pearl-Qatar proves that the country is a strategic market for innovative lifestyle concepts, and that true quality and craftsmanship continue to be in high demand.
“The inauguration of Black Orchid paves the way for more upcoming openings of new brands at The Pearl-Qatar and in other prominent locations around Doha, all managed by UFC.”
Black Orchid founder and CEO Sally Chamley stated that due to the brand’s success in the UK, in particular among wealthy London clients, she knew that it would be well-received in Qatar. “Many of our UK clients are from the Middle East and the Black Orchid product and brand lifestyle appeals to a glamorous audience. Black Orchid brings ‘opulence’ and ‘tailored elegance’ to its clients through an array of exclusively designed statement accessories and furniture.”
The Pearl-Qatar is one of the largest real estate developments in the country and the first to offer freehold and residential rights to international investors.
