The one-day ‘IFN Forum’ in Doha on Sunday focused on Islamic finance, where many local and international experts led talks on the prospects, challenges and
opportunities present in the country’s Shariah-based banking and finance sector. Discussions surrounding the regulatory environment in Qatar, development of the RMB market in the Middle East, opportunities for inbound and outbound investment, as well as trends and strategies across the investment landscape in the GCC region were held. Delegates also participated in a discussion on infrastructure and project financing needs in Qatar and the GCC, and how Islamic finance catered to their demand.
