Qatar University’s College of Pharmacy (QU-CPH) will provide its expertise through supervision and support to the production of the Anti-asthma Report in Qatar by Qatar CSR Network which will be published by Qatar Asthma Network. The report includes insights and studies on the current asthma issue in Qatar, by experts, researchers and specialists.
This activity comes in line with the college’s capacity on health issues in Qatar where asthma is listed as a growing problem due to fast-changing lifestyles.
CPH faculty, researchers and experts will oversee the content of the report by providing academic and scientific assistance and consultation to ensure accuracy of information on the condition, its causes, prevention, care and management.
This initiative comes as part of a co-operation 3-year agreement signed last year between QU and the Network with the aim to bring the two institutions together to advance CSR among students and the wider community.
CPH associate dean for Outreach and Engagement and academic supervisor of the report Dr Mohammad Diab said: “We are pleased to collaborate with Qatar CSR Network in this report. This shows the College’s role in raising awareness on various issues related to health and well-being in Qatar. It also highlights QU’s contribution to advancing CSR in Qatar through faculty consultations and students’ volunteer activities to positively impact the aspirations of the wider community.”
Qatar CSR Network director Haitham Hossam El-Dein expressed his appreciation for the College’s efforts, saying, “We are pleased to have this partnership with QU and CPH to raise awareness on the critical issues we are facing these days. This report will further expand the network towards responsible initiatives that will add value to the entire community in Qatar.”
