More powerful, lighter and good looking, the third-generation, all-new Audi TT 2016 was rolled out in an impressive ceremony held by Q-Auto, the official dealer of Audi in Qatar.
The wraps, when removed, unveiled a bold and beautiful TT, which combines both the original design of the iconic car with a stunning facelift that makes it easily the best looking of all so far.
Powered by the same 2.0-litre engine tuned to produce 227bhp and 370Nm of torque, with All Wheel Drive and lesser weight; the all-new Audi TT sprints from 0-100 in 5.3s, an improvement of 0.6s from the previous model.
The Quattro models are all available in Qatar and Q-Auto expects the convertible version of the car will hit the market in Qatar in July this year. An even powerful TTS version will be arriving by the end of this year.
The current edition of the car does not have an RS model; however, Q-Auto sales manager Ala Makey expects it will be launched next year.
The all-new Audi TT boasts of charming looks and superior handling. The sleeker exterior design is perfectly complemented by the headlamps.
“It’s the third-generation car. The new lightweight technology has been used in it, which reduces its weight compared to the last model. The body structure now combines steel and aluminium, which makes it lighter and more stable out on the road,” Makey said.
The LED matrix lights and the rear dynamic lights are new for the 2016 Audi TT, which has
got a new Audi virtual cockpit, designed from ground up. The traditional dash has been replaced with a customisable 12.3” TFT. Highly intuitive and visually appealing, the interior is innovative.
“It is a new concept. We have turned the usual analogue cluster into a fully digital one where there is no screen and you are fully in control with the steering wheel. Looking in front, you can control the multimedia and everything else just with the digital cluster in front of you,” the official stated.
The all-new car has a cluster of safety features besides the usual front and side air-bags. There are front and rear sensors, automatic parking assistance and reinforced doors as well.
“The Audi TT is an iconic car that represents the future of next-generation models in the market. Compared to our competitors, I can say we are the only one with a four-wheel car, which is a Quattro car,” Makey said.
“We already have delivered two cars to our VIP customers and another two are ready for delivery,” he added.
The TT is now available at the Audi showroom on Salwa Road and starts from QR193,300. The dealership gives customers a number of options to purchase the new TT, including, in-house financing and guaranteed buybacks, where customers are able to trade in their current model following a dealership evaluation.
