Qatar Petrochemical Company (Qapco) recently conducted a workshop with engineering students at Qatar University (QU), highlighting key tips for a successful job interview.
As the students are about to commence their professional career, the objective of the workshop was to prepare them for their upcoming interviews and assist them by focusing on strategic skills to make a strong impression.
On the occasion of this continuous development initiative between the education and industrial sectors, more than 80 promising engineering students from the College of Engineering (CENG)
at QU attended the workshop.
Qapco presented communication ideas and practical tools that help plan a successful interview. Role-plays and CV writing exercises were also organised.
Abdulla Najji, Qapco Learning & Development Department manager, said: “At Qapco, it is our role to support the talented youth of Qatar by providing them with the means to reach their aspirations. We are committed to accompanying them through the different stages of their education and professional path. We are proud to offer both Qatari and expatriate students learning opportunities that will help them be prepared for growing prospects in the oil & gas industry in Qatar and around the world.”
Commenting on the event, CENG dean Dr Rashid al-Ammari said: “This co-operation with Qapco to run a workshop represents the strong relations between academia and industry and the commitment of both to prepare and graduate highly professional engineers in different industrial areas. We are proud of these joint events, which add great value to education at QU, and from which students will greatly benefit.”
