The organising committee of Senyar, the fourth traditional pearl diving and fishing competition to be held from April 22 to 25 at Katara, the Cultural Village Foundation, held a meeting with the participating referees
to brief them about the rules.
They were also briefed about the training they would undergo on the navigation and tracking equipment that will be used throughout the different stages of the competition. Besides, the referrers were told about the addition to this year’s edition of the heritage sports festival.
Jehad al-Jedah, head of the officiating committee, told the referees to be strict with the participants, and especially to ensure all are Qataris with the exception of a worker to maintain the engine of the vessel. He asked the referees to disqualify any team in which the worker participates in any other related activities of the competition, even cleaning and cooking.
