An inspector from the MEC visits a commercial outlet.

Doha

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC) has issued 16 licensing violations to a number of commercial outlets in the Al Rayyan municipality.
MEC inspectors recently conducted an inspection campaign at shops selling items such as clothes and mobile phones, as well as hair saloons and supermarkets.
Inspectors of the Department of Registration and Commercial Licensing found that some of the shops were carrying out activities other than those specified in their licences.
Violations included the use of the commercial outlets as staff accommodation. In addition to being issued violations, the outlets were asked to rectify their situation to avoid further action.
