Qatar Red Crescent (QRC) will go ahead with its community awareness programme ‘QRC School Programme,’ launched at the beginning of the 2014-2015 academic year in Supreme Education Council (SEC) schools across the country.
The programme aims to become a significant development initiative to form groups of schoolchildren that serve their society and promote the culture of charitable work and volunteerism, thus creating a new responsible, well-educated and up-to-date generation.
The overall objective of the programme is to spread the values and principles of humanitarian action, to enhance community awareness and promotion of social responsibility as well as to consolidate the principle of citizenship among Qatari students, to correct bad behaviour among the youth, to highlight negative phenomena in society and ways to eradicate them.
It also seeks to identify the attitude of students and harness their talents, to develop the spirit of innovation and creativity as well as to introduce QRC and its mission and different activities. An Arabic and English brochure has been published for the programme, which is being implemented in
co-ordination with the beneficiary schools.
