Multi-disciplinary university UCL Qatar will be hosting an open evening tomorrow for prospective students, existing applicants, and members of the local community interested in learning more about UCL Qatar’s master’s degree study opportunities, research activities, short courses, and community projects.
The event, which will run from 6.30pm to 9pm at the second floor of the Georgetown Building in Education City, will start off with a presentation session showcasing UCL Qatar’s degree programmes and research activities in the fields of archaeology, conservation, library studies, and museum studies, followed by highlights of UCL Qatar’s short courses and
community activities.
After the presentations, prospective students will have the opportunity to meet with admissions staff for one-to-one application guidance and network with current master’s students and academic staff at a food and refreshments
reception.
Representatives from The British Council will also be available to speak to prospective students about their range of English language courses and obtain further information on the IELTS test in Qatar.
Professor Thilo Rehren, director of UCL Qatar, said, “The open evening is an exciting and interactive way for potential applicants to learn more about the range of study opportunities available at UCL Qatar, a top five global university.
“Our doors are open for the local community to meet our staff and current students in person, ask questions and explore UCL Qatar’s campus facilities. We are looking forward to meeting prospective new students, sharing information and showcasing the rigorous and dynamic learning environment available at UCL Qatar.”
Since August 2012, UCL Qatar has welcomed more than 80 students from 33 countries.
The fourth intake of students at UCL Qatar will be at the end of August 2015.
Candidates can apply online for admission, with an application deadline on
May 1.
UCL Qatar, created by University College London in partnership with Qatar Foundation and Qatar Museums Authority, is a centre of excellence for the study of cultural heritage in Qatar and the Gulf region, focusing on master’s level study in the areas of museum studies, conservation, archaeology,
and library studies.
