Ezdan Group Holding will be joining the “10th International Conference on Islamic Economics and Finance” (ICIEF) as Diamond Sponsor, Group CEO Ali al-Obaidli said in a statement.
“This sponsorship reflects the strong financial situation of the group, its sound and insightful outlook, and its keenness to participate in the creation of economic, financial and monetary reform solutions and promote the ethical dimension in the adoption of modern financing mechanisms through the spreading of the Islamic financing and investing culture, which is growing in recent years,” al-Obaidli said.
He added, “The group is sparing no effort to adopt solutions that are consistent with Islamic law, which of the main motives that prompted the Group to invest in this sector in the first place.”
The event, which scheduled on March 23 and 24, will be held at Hamad bin Khalifa University’s Faculty of Islamic Studies. The annual conference will discuss significant challenges facing banking and innovation in the field of Islamic finance solutions under the theme “Institutional Aspects of Economic, Monetary and Financial Reforms.”
Among other discussions during the event include, challenges facing the global economy, the economy of developed countries, and how it could negatively affect the economies of developing countries, as well as the tendency of economic experts to search for institutional solutions that would achieve a reform to the economic, monetary, and fiscal fields.
Al-Obaidli said Ezdan’s sponsorship of the conference comes in the framework of its contributions to the field of economics and business, and from the Group’s strategy based on investments diversification, with Islamic banking and insurance being one of the vital supporting sectors to the Qatari economy.
“Ezdan Holding Group is one of the largest investment entities that operate in Qatar in accordance with Islamic Shariah law, and one of its roles is to co-operate with all institutions and agencies that operate in accordance with the same law, as well as learn about the latest financing systems and offer its own Islamic finance experience,” he added.
Ezdan Holding Group has also participated in sponsoring the South Western Conference for Finance and Investment, which was held last year in Dallas, Texas, in co-operation with the American Federation of Business Disciplines.
