The Foreign Ministry’s Diplomatic Institute and the National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) have signed a memorandum of understanding with the aim of developing a framework to facilitate co-operation in fields of mutual interest, particularly foreign policy and human rights.
The MoU was signed by Director of the Diplomatic Institute Dr Hassan bin Ibrahim al-Mohannadi and National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) Secretary General Maryam bint Abdullah al-Attiyah.
The two sides agreed to co-operate in carrying out studies and research on issues of common concern and holding joint training courses in foreign policy, diplomacy and human rights, and to participate in events organised by either of them in areas of common interest.
Ambassador al-Mohannadi said that, under the directives of HE the Foreign Minister Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah, the Diplomatic Institute puts national capacities at the forefront of its priorities and always strives to constructively co-operate with effective and leading institutions inside and outside the country.
For her part, the NHRC secretary general praised co-operation with the Foreign Ministry in general and the Diplomatic Institute in particular, stressing the importance of co-operation in the fields of training and scientific research.
She highlighted NHRC’s keenness on co-operation with all ministries and state institutions.
