Doha: The Asian Football Confederation sent a letter of appreciation to the Qatar Football Association about the recent AFC Regional Competition Workshop (West Asia) which took place last week from the 10th until the 12th of March in Doha.
In the official letter the AFC also thanked the Qatar Stars league for their professional organisation of the event.
 The event was held at the Intercontinental hotel in the Qatari capital of Doha and was an opportunity for the various confederations from West Asia to learn best practice in match competition and football facilities management.
Speaking at the launch of the workshop Shin Mangil Director of National Team competitions AFC said; “It is a great pleasure to be working in conjunction with the QSL on this workshop. Qatar is known as a centre for sports in Asia and has a rich history in running major tournaments; this made Qatar the best possible location to run the workshop for the AFC.”
The workshop covered three key areas: infrastructure regulation, match operations, and safety and security. The representatives from the West Asian football associations listened to speakers from both AFC and UEFA.
