HE the Minister of Municipality and Urban Planning Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani, who is also the head of the Higher Committee of the Arab Towns Organisation Award Foundation, has stressed that Qatar, thanks to the wise leadership of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al -Thani, is  committed to achieving  sustainable development  in social, economic and environmental and human areas  as  one of the goals  of the Qatar National Vision 2030.
In a speech  on the occasion of the celebration of the Arab City Day, held this year under the theme “Towards a comprehensive and sustainable cities”, the minister said that the remarkable progress witnessed by Qatar in all fields, in particular cities and their infrastructure, as well as  several  development projects,  contributes to achieving sustainable development.

GCC Awqaf officials
to meet in Doha

GCC Awqaf undersecretaries will hold their first meeting in Doha today in preparation for the second meeting of the Ministerial Committee of GCC Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Ministers, which will be held in  Doha next month.
The two-day meeting aims to prepare the agenda for the second meeting of the GCC Awqaf ministers.

Condolences conveyed

HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad al -Thani yesterday conveyed  condolences of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al -Thani, and HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, to the sons of the late Dr Sheikh Harith Suleiman al-Dari, chairman of the Association of Muslim Scholars in Iraq, in  the Jordanian capital, Amman.  
HE Sheikh Joaan also conveyed condolences to the family, and members of the clan of the deceased.
