Qatar Airways has welcomed the executive leadership team and board and International Advisory Board members of Rolls-Royce, who were in Doha for several meetings with the airline’s top management led by chief executive Akbar al-Baker.
This is the first time that the Rolls-Royce Executive Leadership Group is meeting in Qatar.
Rolls-Royce is a key stakeholder in Qatar Airways’ fleet programme, ensuring that the latest and most efficient engine technology powers its modern aircraft.
Qatar Airways is the launch customer of the newly-received Airbus A350, which is powered by Rolls-Royce engines that emit 25% less carbon dioxide (CO2) than any other aircraft in its category.
Al-Baker said, “We are delighted to have the executive leadership team and board members of Rolls-Royce in Doha. It is especially relevant, given our long-standing partnership to all be present together to discuss pertinent matters related to aircraft programmes, as well as showcase the new hub for Qatar Airways, the Hamad International Airport.

The meetings were held in both Qatar and the UAE throughout the week, demonstrating the engine manufacturer’s commitment towards its customers in the Gulf region.
Rolls-Royce civil aerospace business is a major manufacturer of aero engines for all sectors of the airliner and corporate jet market. Rolls-Royce powers more than 35 types of commercial aircraft and has almost 13,000 engines in service around the world.
Rolls-Royce has a legacy spanning more than a 100 years providing power for air, land and sea applications.
