Grand Mart Group of Companies has launched a new brand of retail chain, Smile. The logo was unveiled by Grand Mart Group chairmen Sheikh Jassim Thamer Issa al-Thani (Qatar) and Mohamed Abdul Rahman bin Abdul Aziz al-Duaij
(Kuwait).
Group vice chairman Ashraf Chakarath announced that Smile is going to make the largest human Smiley on March 27. The store is to be opened on April 16. Smile has partnered with Reach out to Asia.
Group general manager Vivek Verma revealed plans to add a total of 300,000sqm of retail space across GCC countries in three to five years. Marketing head Vivek Pateshwari said the Smile e-commerce portal is set for a beta launch on April 16.
Project manager Masud Khan said they have opened a toll free number (8001801) for customer service and feedback. Purchase head Muneesh Sharma claimed that Smile “will be the best in terms of price, quality and service.”
Ready to eat self-heating foods and American products Asher’s ice cream and Alaska Glacier Water are among the products to be offered by Smile, he added.
Managing partner Rajesh K Nedungadi, executive director Noushad V K, operations director Shaukathali Chakarath, and business associate and advisor George Shaju were also present at the launch event.
