HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani met with US Secretary of State John Kerry yesterday.
Discussions during the meeting, which was held at the Emir’s residence in Washington, dealt with regional and international developments. The two sides also exchanged views on issues of common interest.
Members of the official delegation accompanying the Emir attended the meeting.
The Emir also received a number of senior US officials at his residence yesterday.
Discussions during the meeting dealt with relations between Qatar and the US and the prospects for developing them further, as well as issues of common interest.
Also yesterday, the Emir met a number of prominent Arab-American personalities, experts in the fields of American-Islamic relations, human rights, medicine, development, science, economics and international politics and heads of research centres.
The Emir praised their efforts in their areas of expertise. The meeting also dealt with the achievements of Arab intellectuals in the West and their intellectual and scientific theses which aim to build bridges between nations and the role played by these personalities as ambassadors for the Arab and Islamic causes and their efforts to bring East and West closer.
